| Depart from London Heathrow airport for your overnight flight to Muscat on board Oman Air | ||||
| Day2 - ARRIVAL- HD MUSCAT CITY TOUR | ||||
| Upon arrival at Muscat International Airport, you will be met and greeted by your local English speaking Driver/representative and transferred to your hotel check in (guaranteed early check in) Start the tour and first stop is at the Grand Mosque, the only mosque in Oman where visitors are allowed inside. It has the biggest 1 piece hand made Iranian carpet in the world. The interior walls are made of carara marbles. Notes: Grand Mosque is open from Saturday to Wednesday from 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs only. Ladies visiting the mosque are required to wear scarves, cover their hair and wear full sleeves. All clients should not wear shorts, beach wear or sleeveless outfits or transparent clothes. Visit Bait Al Zubair Museum for a glimpse of Oman's glorious past Exhibits include information regarding the Al Busaidi dynasty, with portraits of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and various other rulers. There are also four galleries on the ground floor that exhibit excellent examples of khanjar (Omani dagger), male and female attire, traditional swords and firearms, antique jewellery and household articles. Drive to the Old Muscat (where guests can see the Al Alam Palace, the official palace of His Majesty and also the 2 Portuguese forts, Jalali & Mirani). | Day3 - 4WD MUSCAT - NAKHAL - MUSCAT | ||||
| 0800 hrs Breakfast at the hotel 0900 hrs Bilad Sait, Wadi Bani Auf, which is renowned as one of the most fantastic tourist locations. Wadi Bani Auf leads to the famous Snake Gorge. The name 'Snake Gorge' refers to the serpentine effect created by the mountains snaking throughout the wadi. Drive to see the magnificent Nakhal fort, situated on a rocky outcrop surrounded by date palms. Photo stop at Rustaq fort. Continue to the hot springs of Al Thowarah on the far side of the village. The stream runs full of clear spring water, the source of which is the clefts in the mountainside. The water is warm and soothing. Picnic Lunch included. Proceed to Muttrah Souk in the heart of Muscat is a traditional market where guests can find fine souvenirs of local handicrafts from Oman. | Day5 - 4WD WAHIBA | ||||
| 0700 hrs Breakfast at the reserve 0800 hrs Proceed to Wahiba Sands. In the Wahiba Sands, guests can enjoy dune driving and see the majestic sand dunes that are 200 kilometers long and 100 kilometers wide and soar up to 150 meters and appear in a variety of hues from orange to deep amber. This includes stop in a Bedouin campsite. Wadi bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful oasis in Oman. It is a lush valley oasis with date palms & pools surrounded by steep cliffs.
